Richard Bierlaagh

Richard is an experienced tax advisor and expert in international tax law. With years of experience as a tax specialist at one of the 'Big-4' offices and as a Tax Manager at Archipel Tax Advice. Here he gained extensive experience in advising companies on complex international tax issues, estate planning and expat tax.

Richard combines his practical experience with his passion for sharing knowledge as a lecturer at VU Amsterdam, where he inspires the next generation of tax specialists. Here, he teaches the course “taxation of business owners” and guides students in their graduation projects.

In addition to teaching, he is also the lead author of a series of tax textbooks and has regular publications in professional literature (such as NDFR, NTFR, IBFD and Cross-Border Working).

Whether it's about cross-border tax strategies, mergers and acquisitions, or training future talent, Richard brings vision, precision and presentation with passion to everything he does.
